FAQ

When and where is the wedding?

We’re tying the knot at The Joinery, 2533 W Homer St, Chicago. Both the ceremony and reception will be held at the same venue. Doors open at 3:30 PM and the ceremony will begin at 4:00 PM. Please refer to the homepage for detailed schedule of the day.

When do I need to RSVP?

Kindly RSVP by Friday, Aug 22nd so we can save you a seat. It only takes a minute!

What should I wear?

Our dress code is cocktail attire. Dress to feel great and ready to hit the dance floor! As a nod to Chinese tradition, we kindly ask our guests to avoid wearing black.

What time should I arrive?

Our ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00 pm, we recommend arriving 15-20 minutes early to allow time for parking and getting settled.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

The whole celebration will mostly take place indoors, but we’ll be enjoying the outdoor patio and lounge during the cocktail hour (weather permitting). So bring a light jacket or wrap if the evening air gets chilly.

Can I bring a plus one?

We’re keeping our wedding small and intimate, and kindly ask that only those listed on the invitation join us. The whole household should be listed in the RSVP, if you are not clear if your partner/family is also invited, feel free to send us a message.

Can I bring my kids?

As much as we love your little ones, we are keeping this a kid-free celebration. That said, a few of our close family members will have their teenage children with them. We hope this gives you an excuse from babysitting duties and a well-deserved fun night out!

Is there a hotel block or accommodation recommendation?

We didn’t reserve a hotel block since most of our guests are local, but there are plenty of cute Airbnb options in the nearby Wicker Park and Logan Square neighborhoods. Let us know if you’d like recommendations – we’re happy to help!

Where are you registered?

We have both a traditional registry and a honeymoon fund for our Spain and Portugal trip, so feel free to contribute however you prefer. You can find more details on the Registry page.

Are there any other wedding activities?

The evening before the wedding (Sep 20th), we are hosting a rehearsal dinner with close family and the wedding party, followed by welcome drinks for our out-of-town friends. Invitations for both events will be sent out separately.
